Retired magistrate calls for speed limits on popular Gold Coast

A retired magistrate is calling for tougher laws and reduced speed limits to put the breaks on boating hoons in one of the Gold Coast's most popular rivers.
Ron Kilner has been advocating for stricter laws on the Nerang River for the past four years, citing incidents of dangerous boating behaviour that endangers the safety of all users.
"The waterways are used by a whole range of people for a whole range of reasons," Kilner said.
